SUMMARY:Salmon Feast
DESCRIPTION:Join our Celebration and Honour the Sacredness of the River\n\n\n\nThe Annual Salmon Feast is an essential practice in the continued organized efforts of the Okanagan Nation Alliance and member communities to raise the importance of the habitat protection and rehabilitation of local ecosystems\, watersheds\, and renew connections and relationships between all residents of the Region with water and fish. It is vitally important that we honour the salmon so they will always come back to feed the people. \n\n\n\nIt is one of the goals of the Syilx Okanagan Nation to carry on the work of the people’s ancestors and Elders who taught the importance of preserving and revitalizing the traditions\, customs\, and language of the Syilx people. The Salmon Feast honours the sacredness of the river at sx̌ʷəx̌ʷnitkʷ (Okanagan Falls)\, which is a culturally significant site for the Syilx Okanagan People\, and an important traditional fishing camp\, gathering place and trading site. \n\n\n\nThe Salmon Feast is a three-day event that involves multiple activities including: ceremonies\, a canoe paddle\, and on Sunday\, a salmon feast and ceremony for snx̌aʔiwləm (to honour the sacredness of the river). \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSalmon Feast Poster+\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nSF Poster 2026 UpdatedDownload\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRequest For Cooks+\n\n\n\n\nSF Call for Cooks 2026Download\n\n\n\n\n\n\nStickgame Tournament +\n\n\n\n\nStickgame Poster 2026Download\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*CAMPING – Camping applications are now closed\, to be added to the waitlist please email dharrower@syilx.org \n\n\n\n*VENDORS AND BOOTHS – Applications are now closed. SUMMARY:Coyote Rivers Tour
DESCRIPTION:Okanagan Nation Alliance and Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre are proud sponsors of the four-part performance\, “Epic Misadventures of the Trickster Coyote”\, by Julian Brave NoiseCat.\n\n\n\nAward-winning author\, Oscar-nominated filmmaker\, and champion powwow dancer Julian Brave NoiseCat (Secwépemc/St’at’imc) brings the Interior Salish art of the Coyote Story to life onstage with a three-night\, four-part performance of the “Epic Misadventures of the Trickster Coyote.” \n\n\n\nThe Coyote Epic\, the most widely told series of trickster tales in the world\, begins Wednesday October 28th in Winthrop\, Washington and proceeds upriver\, roughly the same direction the trickster traveled when he first filled the rivers with salmon and populated the lands with descendants. On Thursday October 29th\, NoiseCat will perform at the Red Theater in Omak\, Washington. On Friday\, October 30th\, the Coyote Rivers Tour concludes when NoiseCat and Coyote visit the Nk’Mip Cultural Centre in Osoyoos\, British Columbia. \n\n\n\nNoiseCat intertwines contemporary interpretations of Secwépemc and St’at’imc traditions with stories from his life\, his family\, and the history of the Northwest. His performances are intended to foster dialogue between the many cultural descendants of the trickster and deepen ties and understandings between all peoples of the region across borders and differences. According to an old prophesy\, in the End Times\, when the world is on fire\, the earth renews\, and the spirits of our departed return\, the trickster will come back. With this offering\, NoiseCat humbly suggests that time may be now. \n\n\n\nThis is a grassroots cross-border event co-organized by the Wenatchee Valley College at Omak\, the Syilx Okanagan Nation Alliance\, the Methow Valley Interpretive Center\, the River Warrior Society\, the Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre\, and the artist. All proceeds support wildfire relief efforts in Eastern Washington and the Okanagan. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n	\n Event Poster:\n	\n	\n \n View Event Poster >>\n \n	\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Date:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nEvent Location:\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nContact:
